Mini-Sustained Investigations (Mini Body of Work or Series)

I have done this differently over the years... Lately it is 3-4 pieces of work over a six week period with attendant journal work (began previously and ongoing during the project work).
Ellie- chose to distort faces.  This is a typical example of 3 related projects  She was a Junior in Art 3 when this was done.
Archi wanted to study different modes of expression in portraiture.  In general a theme like this may be too broad, but his journal work backed up what he wanted to do.  You can see digital and analog journal work here as well.
Ellen's Sophomore work about body/self-image is shows another common theme.
Animals are also popular.  I include Alayah's work as she worked in paper- something I see less and would like to encourage.  She liked a summer assignment done in paper and decided to do more.
Occasionally, I will shorten assignment.  This sophomore really wanted to make these photorealistic and needed the time to do so at a good size.  So, he only did 2 finished projects.
Jade- examples of journal and finished work.
Alara loves cats and drawing from imagination... so the work made sense.  Her sophmore work as well.
Political messaging and hands.
Freshman in Art 2 Drawing.  Great examples of journal work.  He loves pen and loves animals.  It worked out great as study he enjoyed doing.
Super-talented Sophomore in Art 2 Advanced.  Beautiful finished work (he took a ton of work home) and good examples of journal work.  I had photos of a lot of the journal work as it was last year's work and he is in IB this year.
Junior in Art 3.  Really loves the color, texture, and shapes of insects.  Everything makes sense.  The finished pieces show her study clearly.
This is a rather old example- I only have 2 photos of her work- though I know she did 3 pieces.  Included for diversity's sake.  Wanted to explore paper collage.
